Reading the node canvas: what each workflow status color means

Every step on the workflow canvas carries a status color — pending, running, done, or stale — so you can tell at a glance what's safe to trust and what needs a re-run.

Stale means an upstream step changed

A step goes stale not because it failed, but because something it depends on was re-run more recently — the output you're looking at no longer reflects the current input.
